Flutopia's Most Recent Performance at Carnegie Hall, NYC
(January 18, 2015) 

Flutopia Wind Ensemble is in it's 15th season, and continues to raise the bar, both musically and artistically with it's outstanding members, numerous performance opportunities in venues across Northern, VA, and through workshops that are distinctly unique to Flutopia, such as the "District Band Workshop" and "Flutopia Fest."  comprised of high school wind players in and around Washington, DC and Northern, VA. 

Flutopia is comprised of high school wind, brass, and percussion players from the Northern, VA area.  Members of Flutopia are active in their high school bands, community youth orchestras, and area competitions.  Rehearsals are held on Sundays so that students can maintain their school and community obligations, as well as participate in the high level musical experience that is offered in Flutopia.  

Flutopia performs three concerts a year, including a "destination concert," which has included concerts at the Strathmore Music Center, MD (2012) and Carnegie Hall, NYC (2011).  Additionally, Flutopia members are offered supplementary experiences during rehearsal times, including workshops and sectionals with clinicians, master classes and chamber performances.  

Cumulatively, the mission of Flutopia is to promote musical excellence and dedication amongst its members through a commitment to leadership, community service and outreach, individual musical achievement, and a
lifelong love and passion for music
